Did you know…

Did you know that the smile is one of the first places people look when meeting new people? It’s true. It’s also true that reactions to a person can be shaped by that smile.

That means that your smile may affect your lifestyle, your confidence – some experiments have even found that – believe it or not - salary can be affected. That’s right; the amount of money you make is affected by great (or no-so-great) teeth.

And if your problems extend beyond mere teeth cleaning, whitening, and perhaps an impacted tooth, dental implants might be the solution for you.

How dental implants help you.

  • More confidence. One of the first places people look when you meet them is at your mouth and smile! What a confidence boost it is to have a great smile, and your confidence directly relates to how feel both personally and professionally. Dark spaces caused by missing teeth detract from a great smile.
  • Impossible to detect. Dental implants are remarkably natural; so natural, you might even forget that you lost a tooth! The shape and coloration of the tooth are matched exactly or improved. They are also incredibly secure and therefore very good alternatives to dentures or perfect for anchoring dentures so they won’t slip. They also increase surface area and chewing force over dentures.
  • No more wobbling in the mouth. Dental implants are incredibly secure, and will never move around.

Why choose us for dental implants?

We’ll do the work right here. The majority of dentists do not actually place implants; they usually send out for an oral surgeon. If you come to us, we can do the work right here. We take your restoration from start to finish. That means less waiting for you. Since we have an in-house lab, we can cut the number of return visits by half.

  • We have the experience for even the most delicate of dental implanting. We have had patients come in and say, “my other dentist said I could not have dental implants; there isn’t enough bone.” Again, experience plays a factor from dentist to dentist. If your dentist is not experienced enough, he may not understand what can be done.

What is a Dental Implant?

dental implant surgery

We place titanium implants into or on the bone to produce an anchor, so that teeth don’t move.
For simple implants, it’s a root replacement
For complex implants, when you have large areas of the mouth where you don’t have teeth, you can restore that area by placing implants in strategic areas to hold and anchor more of a permanent crown (porcelain) or denture so it doesn’t move. (make note of visual with 4 anchors?)

For complex implants, when you have large areas of the mouth where you don’t have teeth, you can restore that area by placing implants in strategic areas to hold and anchor more of a permanent crown (porcelain) or denture so it doesn’t move. (make note of visual with 4 anchors?)

Dental implants are placed when both the tooth and the root of the tooth are degraded or missing. A dental implant is simply a replacement of the anchoring root and the reconstruction of the missing tooth.

Dental implants are usually made from titanium posts that are placed directly onto the jaw and anchor a permanent crown. Although dental implants have been around for a long time, they are now a well established practice.

Why dental implants are used.

When the tooth has lost its anchoring. When the root of the tooth is no longer useful for anchoring, dental implants create the strongest anchor there is. In some cases, a stronger anchor than your natural tooth.
A great side effect from getting dental implants is that it can actually stimulate bone and gum growth.

When you need implant dentistry.

You’re getting older. Dental implants main purpose is to restore the anchoring that teeth have. Therefore, as you grow older, it becomes more used.

It’s denture time. One of the most interesting uses is when you need dentures. Implants, performed at strategic locations around the mouth, can anchor dentures like no polygrip can.

In lieu of bridges. As implants become more and more common, some patients are forgoing bridgework for implant dentistry. Again, the procedure usually makes for a more secure – and longer lasting – mouth.

How much dental implants cost.

You’re probably aware that dental implants can cost quite a bit. It’s hard to give a price online; there are many factors to consider. Call us for more information - we’ll setup an appointment for you, where you can discuss all the options with Dr. Potts, privately and comfortably.

But before you do call us, consider this: what is the price of your smile? You might agree that it’s the difference between smiling, and not smiling. The confidence and beauty that you gain by a fantastic smile may considerably outweigh the costs of having to go through your entire life without teeth you can be confident to show.
