What are Tooth Implants?

Dental implants are usually made from titanium posts that are placed directly onto the jaw and anchor a permanent crown. Although dental implants have been around for a long time, they are now a well established practice.

Why teeth implants are used.

When the tooth has lost its anchoring. When the root of the tooth is no longer useful for anchoring, tooth implants create the strongest anchor there is. In some cases, a stronger anchor than your natural tooth.
A great side effect from getting dental implants is that it can actually stimulate bone and gum growth.

You’re getting older.

Teeth implants main purpose is to restore the anchoring that teeth have. Therefore, as you grow older, it becomes more used.

It’s denture time.

One of the most interesting uses is when you need dentures. Implants, performed at strategic locations around the mouth, can anchor dentures like no polygrip can.

In lieu of bridges.

As implants become more and more common, some patients are forgoing bridgework for implant dentistry. Again, the procedure usually makes for a more secure – and longer lasting – mouth.
